Chiropractic Care for Pregnant Women
We have a special table with a drop out abdominal piece and pillows which give the pregnant woman that much desired ability to lie on her stomach safely during the treatment. Dr. Tara is certified in The Webster Technique which is a safe and gentle chiropractic treatment that prepares the pregnant woman for delivery. This can be used throughout pregnancy but is most well known for helping balance the mother's pelvis allowing a breech baby turn head down for the delivery.

Insight Millennium Subluxation Station
At Hatboro Family Wellness, we utilize The Subluxation Station which is a non-invasive scan that provides a visual measurement of how well the nervous system is functioning. Specifically, the spinal nerves bringing instruction from the brain to the muscles and the autonomic nervous system controlling the organs as well as other activities you do not consciously think about, such as breathing regularly.

There are two components to the scan:
1. Surface EMG (example on left)
The Surface Electromyography measures the activity of the muscles along your spine. This tells us whether the muscles are working normally (indicated by white lines), or if they are working too hard (indicated by red, blue or green lines) or not hard enough (indicated by yellow lines).
2. Thermal Scan (example on right)
Measures temperature deviations along the spine (shown as red, blue or green lines) which indicate how well the autonomic nerve system is functioning. This lets us know about the health of your organs and glands.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST)
The CranioSacral Therapy practitioner works with the patient to assist the body's self-correcting mechanisms. Generally using about five grams of pressure, or about the weight of a nickel, the practitioner evaluates the body's craniosacral system. This system plays the vital role of maintaining the environment in which the central nervous system functions. It consists of the membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord as well as the attached bones - including the skull, face and mouth, which make up the cranium, and the tailbone area, or sacrum. Since the brain and spinal cord are contained with the central nervous system, it is easy to see that the craniosacral system has powerful influence over a wide variety of bodily functions.
The CranioSacral Therapy practitioner essentially helps the body release restrictions - which it has been unable to overcome on its own - that inhibit the body's normal, self-correcting tendencies. Rather than deciding how these changes should be made, the therapist follows cues from the body on how to proceed. When the therapist follows this gentle approach, the method is extremely safe and effective. The few contraindications to CranioSacral Therapy are aneurysm, intracranial hemorrhage, and other conditions where altering intracranial fluid pressure is not recommended.

Core Strength Exercises
We teach our patients yoga inspired exercises to help strengthen the core and support the body through the course of their chiropractic care. These core exercises are essential to a healthy spine. They can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.
Nutritional Counseling and Vitamin Supplements
We provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices to enhance our patient´s return to optimal health. Do you know which supplements and vitamins are good for you? Do you know how these supplements and vitamins interact with one another? Dr. Tara Buchakjian can provide a structured nutritional program based on your individual needs.
Massage Therapy (future service)
Massage therapy offers a natural conservative treatment approach that relieves musculoskeletal pain for many patients. Our office provides specific massage and muscular therapy that is tailored to meet the patient's condition and injury. The benefits of massage therapy may include increasing blood circulation, reducing swelling, relaxing muscles, relieving muscle pain and spasms, and aid in recovery and range of motion.
Grief Counseling (limited to the death of a child)
Your "grief journey" requires not only time, but, also a strong support system. A professional grief counselor can be an important part of your support system. A professional counselor can provide you with help that your family, friends and non-professional support systems can not provide, friends and non-professional support systems can not provide.
